Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul is also known by the stage name Ten. She is a Thai singer and dancer who has performed in South Korea and China. In 2016, he made his debut with South Korean boy band NCT’s first sub-unit, NCT U. Since 2019, he has primarily been active as a member of the China-based unit WayV, but he is also a member of the South Korean supergroup SuperM.
Ten’s debut single, “Dream in a Dream,” was released in 2017 as part of the SM Station project.
Ten was born on February 27, 1996, in Bangkok, Thailand, to a Thai Chinese family. Ten received the Thai television show Teen Superstar in 2010 and was offered a contract with Starship Entertainment, but she declined. He entered SM Entertainment through their global auditions in 2013. He went to Shrewsbury International School for his education. Due to knee injuries, he got an official exemption from mandatory military service in 2018.
2011–2015: Pre-debut and SM Rookies
Under the stage name TNT, he competed on Teen Superstar in 2011. SM Entertainment cast him in 2013 through the SM Global Audition 2013 in Bangkok. On December 23, 2013, Ten was presented as a member of SM Entertainment’s pre-debut training team SM Rookies. Ten and other future NCT members took part in the show Exo 90:2014 in 2014, remaking K-pop songs from the 1990s.
2016–2018: Debut, NCT, Hit The Stage, and First single
Ten and other members were confirmed by SM Entertainment in April 2016 to debut as members of NCT’s first subgroup, NCT U, with the single “The 7th Sense.” He also competed in Mnet’s dance competition Hit the Stage, where he won episode 6.
In January 2017, he starred the cast of SBS’s Elementary School Teacher, a show that shows idols from other countries getting better their Korean language skills and becoming more familiar with Korean culture.
On March 24, 2017, SM Entertainment released a teaser for Ten’s first single, “Dream in a Dream,” as part of the SM Station Season 2 project. On April 7, the song was released. Ten was declared as the new member of SM Entertainment’s performance team SM The Performance on the same day. Ten completed the project on April 6, 2018 with his single “New Heroes,” which reached number four on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales. NCT’s first studio album, NCT 2018 Empathy, included Dream in a Dream. Ten also helped to release the NCT U’s single “Baby Don’t Stop,” a duet he recorded with Taeyong, for the album. He also appeared as a member of NCT 2018 in the music video for “Black On Black.”
2019–present WayV, SuperM
WayV, an NCT China-based boy group managed by Label V, a subsidiary of SM Entertainment, was declared on December 31, 2018. Kun, Winwin, Ten, Lucas, Hendery, Xiaojun, and YangYang make up the group. They made their official debut on January 17, 2019, with the release of their debut EP The Vision, which featured the Chinese version of NCT 127’s “Regular” as the lead single.
Food Truck Battle premiered on Thailand channel PPTV on July 16, 2019, with Ten as the MC. The show was also broadcast a week late on the show’s official YouTube channel. Nam Tae-hyun, Park Ye-eun, Kitty Chica, and James Teeradon were among the Thai and Korean celebrities who appeared.
On August 8, 2019, it was declared that Ten would join Shinee’s Taemin, EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai, NCT 127’s Taeyong and Mark, and WayV’s Lucas in SuperM, a “K-pop supergroup” created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records. Promotions for the group started in October and are targeted specifically at the American market. On October 4, 2019, SuperM released their self-titled debut EP, becoming the first K-pop group to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 with a debut album. They then went on tour in North America and Europe.
