Today I will tell you about HOW TO CONTACT The Mountain Goats?

The Mountain Goats were formed in Claremont, California, by singer-songwriter John Darnielle.  In spite of the band’s plural name, Darnielle was the group’s sole member for a long period of time. Darnielle’s general tone and feel remain fairly consistent throughout his record, which is why this band is actually simply John Darnielle and any other musicians he may choose to work with. Because his best work is composed of carefully observed, slightly surreal, impressionistic vignettes that merge reality as we know it with life as we imagine it to be, he’s also a published novelist.

When it comes to his talents, the author is a better comparison than the typical singer/songwriter would be. Nine Black Poppies from 1995 and The Coroner’s Gambit from 2000 were both recorded on cassette by Darnielle and featured a rotating cast of musicians. As part of the Mountain Goats’ stable lineup (with Peter Hughes, Matt Douglas, and Jon Wurster), Darnielle contributed to albums like Beat the Champ (2015) and Goths (2017), which were musically cohesive and on par with their best work, 2005’s The Sunset Tree, but his character studies were just as vivid.

When Darnielle signed with 4AD in 2002 for the release of Tallahassee, a film that was astonishingly polished for its time, he had just released The Coroner’s Gambit for Absolutely Kosher. After We Shall All Be Healed, Darnielle returned in 2005 with The Sunset Tree. Despite his prolific output, Darnielle’s sound on 2006’s Get Lonely changed away from the intensity of The Sunset Tree to a more sombre, introspective one. As a confident and friendly product, Heretic Pride was released in 2008.

The Life of the World to Come, the band’s sixth 4AD album, was released in 2010 There are four producers on this album, All Eternals Deck, including John Congleton (John Congleton), Scott Solter (Scott Solter), and Erik Rutan (Erik Rutan) (Morbid Angel guitarist and Hate Eternal frontman Erik Rutan).

The band was also scheduled to perform at the All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in Minehead, England, but had to cancel due to scheduling issues. Since John Darnielle is the Mountain Goats, the sound will vary from project to project, but the general mood and tone of Darnielle’s music will remain similar throughout.

As a composer and a successful author, Darnielle has a rare capacity to mix a clear, realistic sense of detail with an almost surreal imagination, which lends his work a suitable literary flavour. The cassette-recorded, low-fi Mountain Goats albums Nine Black Poppies (1995) and The Coroner’s Gambit (2000) were both made by Darnielle and a rotating group of musicians.

As on earlier albums, his character studies remained vivid despite the smoother and less congested recordings of 2005. The Mountain Goats’ best work, such as Beat the Champ (2015) and Dark In Here (2016), was made possible by the band’s stable lineup of Darnielle, Peter Hughes, Matt Douglas, and Jon Wurster (2021).

On the Shrimper label, Darnielle began making music under the Mountain Goats moniker in 1991, while working as a nurse at a state hospital in her native California. Despite (or perhaps because of) their devoted underground audience, the Mountain Goats released their music only on cassette, brilliantly using the tape hiss as an additional instrument.

In addition to their innumerable tracks on compilations, The Mountain Goats have produced a flurry of 7″ singles for a number of labels. In 1995, the band released studio albums such as “Nine Black Poppies,” “Zopilote Machine,” “Sweden,” and “Full Force Galesburg.” (1997). Many early tapes and singles were collected in Protein Source of the Future…NOW! and Bitter Melon Farm, two albums released in 1999.

A more introspective mix of music were released on 2006’s Get Lonely instead of the intensity of The Sunset Tree. As a confident and friendly product, Heretic Pride was released in 2008.

The Life of the World to Come, the band’s sixth 4AD album, was released in 2010 After releasing All Eternals Deck on Merge Records in 2011, Darnielle collaborated with producers John Congleton, Scott Solter, Brandon Eggleston, and Morbid Angel guitarist and Hate Eternal frontman Erik Rutan on the project. New York City, Boston, North Carolina, and Florida were the four studios where the album was recorded for the album. In addition, they were supposed to perform at Jeff Mangum’s festival, All Tomorrow’s Parties in Minehead, England, but were unable to due to conflicting schedules.
