In February 2015, Ellis was cast as Lucifer Morningstar in the Fox television series Lucifer, which is based on the DC Comics book and character of the same name. The series premiered on January 25, 2016, and Ellis is now starring in it. Later, the show was transferred to Netflix. In a press release issued on June 23, 2020, Netflix announced that the program would return for a sixth and final season.

He returned to the character of Lucifer in an episode of The Flash that aired during the Arrowverse crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths” on The CW. For his performance in a cable or streaming sci-fi/fantasy/horror series, Ellis received the Tell-Tale TV Award in 2021 for Favorite Actor. Tom Ellis portrays the eponymous character, the devil, in this film. It is expected that the show would come to an end with the sixth and final season, which will air in 2019. Fans, on the other hand, were hoping to see more of Ellis in his role as Lucifer Morningstar in some capacity, but the actor has denied that he will reprise the role. Tom Ellis talked out on his future as the king of hell in a recent podcast of the King of Con podcast series.

He stated that being a part of the show for six seasons is a significant accomplishment for him. The actor stated that it has been a difficult emotional trip and that he does not believe he wants to continue doing this. He added that he is well aware that he does not wish to portray the character in the future. Ellis added that he is doing so primarily because he wants to be aware that the show is coming to an end and since he has had such a good time.

He believes it is only fitting that the series comes to a suitable conclusion. Tom Ellis made his television debut in the role of Lucifer Morningstar in the first season of Lucifer, which aired in 2016 on Fox. The sitcom was renewed for two more seasons on the broadcast network and was a critical and commercial success. The show was then canceled by Fox following its third season, which concluded in 2018.

With the help of social media marketing, fans began clamoring for additional episodes of the series. Lucifer was resurrected by Netflix for a fourth season, which will premiere in 2019. Following the show’s popularity, the streaming giant has extended it for a fifth and final season, which will air in 2019. Lauren German, D. B. Woodside, Kevin Alejandro, Lesly-Ann Brandt, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, and other actors appear in the Lucifer television series.

The characters in the show are based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg for DC Comics’ Vertigo, and they are drawn from the comic book series ‘The Sandman.’ Tom Kapinos is in charge of the development, and Warner Bros. Television is in charge of distribution. The series revolves around the story of Lucifer Morningstar, the Devil, who decides to leave Hell in order to spend his life in Los Angeles with his family.

He owns and operates his own nightclub, which he calls ‘LUX,’ and serves as a consultant to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) (LAPD). In the midst of his battle against his father, God, the devil falls in love with a detective and learns some shocking truths about himself and the world.

It’s presently accessible on Netflix as part of Lucifer season 5 part – A, which consists of eight episodes.
