Torrey Joël DeVitto stars in the Chicago Med NBC drama (2015). The latest spin-off focuses on the daily chaos of the ER team from the same Chicago Fire (2012) and Chicago P.D. (2014). Torrey is playing Natalie Manning, PhD in ER Pediatrics. Natalie is the typical sweetheart of America, a girl close by who is reserved and highly focused on her career. The new series premiered in autumn 2015 and was renewed for the second season.
In Amy Makes Three (2016), Torrey starred at the film front as Carla Forrest, a happily married woman who lost her child prematurely. The film takes a twisted turn when her husband and Carla, played by Mike Doyle, discover their former child’s fantasy.
Torrey was recently seen in Lifetime’s last season of popular Army Wives drama (2007). She played the beautiful drop-dead Maggie Hall, a clever ex-Army Airborne. Torrey is best known for her role in the Vampire Diaries CW TV series (2009) and for the role of Melissa Hastings on Pretty Little Liars, a hit show from ABC Family (2010). However, she is most remarkable for her repetitive chilling role as Carrie in The One Tree Hill CW series (2003).
Mary Devitto & Liberty DeVitto was born and raised in Huntington, New York, from the time Torrey was born and was surrounded by the entertainment industry. For 28 years, her father played Billy Joel’s drums. Most of her early years she spent with her parents on the road. When Torrey was able to walk, her heart was in the world of music and acting. At the age of six, she started violin lessons and reached the fourth grade when she was the fourth violinist in a New York high school orchestra. She played at the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra from 1995 to 1997; she played at the Florida youth artist’s orchestra in Austria from 1998 to 1999; she wedded to Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook for the solo violin piece at age 12; and she played with her dad on stage during her first-time show at Terri Binion in Orlando in 1997.
Later Torrey studied dance at New York’s Kings Park Dance Centre. She started acting at Zoe & Company in Orlando, Florida. At the age of 15 she began working in advertising, modelling and print ads. When Torrey took part in the Spelling Production Safe Harbor in 1999, she had her first break in acting (1999). One year later, she booked Noah Knows Best for the Nickelodeon pilot. She studied at the Crenshaw Performing Arts School in her junior year of secondary school where she graduated six months early and top of class. During the summer following his high school degree, Torrey stayed with Avenue One Modeling Agency in Japan. Her break came in 2002 when she won the lead in Eleemosynary, a three-woman play by the playwright Lee Blessing, played at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre. Her performance won her rave reviews at the Sentinel Orlando.
Torrey moved to Los Angeles after graduating from high school, where she began her career as an actress. His work includes: playing the MTV pilot Alexandra the Great, guest-starring on the FBC pilot One Big Happy, guest-starring on FBC’s The Untitled Michael Jacobs Pilot, guest-starring on Scrubs (2001), Dawson’s Creek (1998), Jack & Bobby (2004), The King of Queens (1998), Drake & Josh (2004), CSI: Miami (2002) and Castle. She remained true to her music love in 2002 and performed violin with the Tommy Davidson band in Hollywood’s Sunset Room. Her solo show won her another standing ovation. She also played violin on the 2004 Raphael Saadiq CD ‘Ray Ray’ and played on the In Your Dreams album of Stevie Nicks in 2011.
Torrey devotes a lot of her free time outside work to philanthropy. She is a five-year Hospice ambassador (www.caringinfo.org/torrey) and also supports PETA and the American Human Society (HSUS).
