Yeduguri Sandinti Jagan Mohan Reddy, better known as Y. S. Jagan or Jagan, is an Indian businessman and politician who has served as the 17th and current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh since May 30, 2019. As a result of his conflict with the top leadership of the Congress party, on November 29, 2010, he tendered his resignation from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and left the party. His mother, Vijayamma, has also deserted the party and resigned from her position as a representative for the Pulivendula Assembly seat.
On the 7th of December 2010, he announced to Pulivendula that he would be beginning a new party within the next 45 days.
