Beth Phoenix, sometimes known as Elizabeth Copeland, is an American professional wrestler and commentator. She is presently signed with WWE and works as a colour commentator for the NXT brand. Before entering the professional wrestling arena, Copeland was an amateur wrestler.

Beth Phoenix made her main roster debut in 2006 and has since set several records, including being the first woman to compete in both the men’s and women’s Royal Rumbles. She is a former WWE Divas Champion, a three-time WWE Women’s Champion, and the WWE Hall of Fame’s youngest ever inductee.Phoenix opened the road for many female celebrities to follow in her footsteps with her blend of beauty and courage.

Copeland was prepared for professional wrestling by the All Knights after a successful high school wrestling career in which he won multiple competitions, Copeland was prepared for professional wrestling by the All Knights. She debuted in May 2001 and has since competed for a variety of small promoters. In 2004, Copeland began working for Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), and in October 2005, he signed a developmental deal with WWE.

She debuted on WWE’s Raw brand in May 2006 but suffered a genuine fractured jaw the following month. She underwent multiple operations as a consequence, and she returned to OVW for more training. She won the OVW Women’s Championship twice during her time there, however, OVW does not acknowledge her second reign. In July 2007, she returned to the Raw brand and earned the moniker “The Glamazon” as she dominated the other WWE Divas.

At the No Mercy pay-per-view in October, Phoenix won her first WWE Women’s Championship, which she held for six months. She had created an on-screen connection with Santino Marella, whom she dubbed “Glamarella” at the time. In August 2008, Phoenix won the Women’s Championship for the second time and held it until January 2009.

Meanwhile, in April of the same year, she won her third women’s championship, which she held for a month. Phoenix won the WWE Divas Championship for the first time in October 2011 and held it until April 2012. Phoenix, however, retired and departed WWE later that year in October, citing creative dissatisfaction with the company’s handling of women.

She also stated that she wants to concentrate on her relationship with boyfriend Adam Copeland, better known as Edge in WWE (whom she later married and two daughters with). Phoenix returned to WWE in 2017, when she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2017 class, and she also joined the organisation as a part-time colour commentator.

She became the youngest inductee in WWE history when she was inducted at the age of 36, as well as the quickest female inductee following her retirement. She was also the first woman inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2019, which honours professional wrestlers with an amateur background. She was elevated to a full-time colour commentator on NXT in May 2019.

Elizabeth Copeland (Kociaski) was born on November 24, 1980, in Elmira, New York, to Polish parents. She won a colouring contest at the age of 11 and received tickets to a World Wrestling Federation television taping as a prize. Bret Hart, Sgt. Slaughter, Owen Hart, and Ted DiBiase are among her favourite wrestlers, and she considers this as the time when she fell in love with professional wrestling.

She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Elmira, where she was a tennis and track athlete. In her senior year, she was elected prom queen. She earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and public relations from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Phoenix worked as a server at a local eatery known to Elmira residents as Lights Bakery and Coffee Shop while fighting in OVW.

She married Joey Carolan, better known by his ring name Joey Knight, in 2001, but the couple separated in 2010. She later married Adam Copeland, better known in WWE as Edge, and their daughter Lyric Rose Copeland was born on December 12, 2013. Ruby Ever Copeland, their second daughter, was born on May 31, 2016. On October 30, 2016, the pair tied the knot.

Elizabeth Kociaski began her wrestling career as a member of the Notre Dame High School scholastic wrestling team when she became the school’s first female varsity wrestler. Kociaski won the North-East freestyle women’s championship in 1999, then went on to win the New York State Fair Tournament the following year. She was also a member of USA Wrestling, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling organisation, at the time.

Kociaski hoped that having a strong amateur wrestling history would help her achieve her goal of becoming a professional wrestler. Kosinski attended both a professional wrestling school and Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, after graduating from high school in 1998. Stu Hart’s Dungeon was her initial option for wrestling school, but due to its proximity, she chose a more nearby institution.

The All Knights (Joey Knight and Robin Knightwing), who had previously trained in the Hart Dungeon, were in charge of her training. Nora Greenwald, who played Molly Holly in the WWF at the time, later claimed that Carolan had paid for her to attend wrestling school after Carolan had given her a sample video of her performance.

Kociaski’s professional wrestling debut opponent was Alexis Laree. She competed against both male and female wrestlers for numerous independent organizations, including Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling and Apocalypse Wrestling, earning the ring moniker “Phoenix.” She was one of the original women’s wrestlers in GLORY, an independent organization for women, and was the company’s first champion in 2002.

She went on to become the first and only female wrestler to join Far North Wrestling (FNW), where she defeated Joey Knight and Kevin Grace to win the FNW Cruiserweight Championship in 2003. Later the same year, she competed in the annual Women’s Elite 8 competition for World Xtreme Wrestling, reaching the final before losing to April Hunter. Two years later, she overcame Nikki Roxx in the first round but was defeated in the second round by eventual winner Alicia.

Phoenix made her debut during the inaugural filming of the Ring of Honor sister show Shimmer Women Athletes the following month. During Volume 1, Kociaski was pinned by Shimmer creator Allison Danger, but she came back to beat NWA Midwest Women’s Champion MsChif in a non-title match.

During Volume 1, Allison Danger pinned Kociaski, but she came back to win a non-title match against NWA Midwest Women’s Champion MsChif. In May 2004, Kociaski was asked to a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) tryout and subsequently went to Louisville, Kentucky to work for the company’s then-developmental area, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). A month later, in July, she made her OVW television debut as “Beth Phoenix,” her new ring name.

She became Chris Masters’ on-screen girlfriend and valet after joining the brand. The narrative, however, was short-lived, as Phoenix was recast as Aaron “The Idol” Stevens’ manager the next month. She got a developmental deal with WWE on October 20, 2005, the same month she fractured her hand. The team was later joined by Shelly Martinez, with whom Phoenix had an early 2006 rivalry. After debuting on WWE’s Raw television show, Phoenix ceased appearing on OVW regularly.

Phoenix returned to competition in OVW on August 16, 2006, two years after her injury, beating Serena in the process. Phoenix began fighting for the OVW Women’s Championship regularly but was defeated by champion ODB in a battle royal and a four-way match won by Serena. Phoenix, on the other hand, defeated Serena to capture the championship at the OVW television tapings on October 4th.

On October 20, she lost the championship against Victoria Crawford in a gauntlet match but won it back the next day. Crawford’s stint as champion isn’t legally acknowledged, and Phoenix’s second reign isn’t either. At the November 1 television filming, Phoenix officially relinquished the crown after being ousted by eventual winner Katie Lea in a gauntlet match.

Phoenix walked out with her championship and claimed to be the women’s champion on the November 6 broadcast of OVW. This resulted in a ladder match, with the winner claiming the title of OVW Women’s Champion. In the first event of 2007, Lea won the bout and was rewarded with the title belt. Phoenix wrestled in a series of women’s matches in OVW throughout 2007, before losing to Lea in a number one contender’s match at the August 15 television tapings.
