Julian Dennison is a well-known New Zealand actor born on October 26th, 2002. In the film Shopping (2013), he made his first appearance, and for that role, he was awarded the English Film and Television Award for Best Supporting Actor. He is most recognized for his performances as Ricky Baker in the film Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016), which holds the record for the highest-grossing film in the history of New Zealand cinema, as Russell “Firefist” Collins in Deadpool 2 (2018), and as Belsnickel in The Christmas Chronicles 2.

In the 2021 film Godzilla vs. Kong, Dennison portrayed the character Josh Valentine. Lower Hutt, New Zealand, is where Dennison spent his childhood and was born. He is the middle child in a family with four kids and shares the name Christian with his identical twin brother. Julian is a member of the Ngati Hau iwi (tribe), which is a component of the Tainui tribal confederation. Julian is of Mori heritage.

He attended Naenae Primary School, where he had his acting debut, and was cast in his first role in the film Shopping (2013). The following year, in 2015, he was released in the Australian film Paper Planes. Later on, he enrolled in the Hutt International Boys’ School, which is located in Upper Hutt. Dennison maintained his career as an actor and was cast in a public service announcement for the New Zealand Transport Agency that warned against getting behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs.

Taika Waititi directed the public service advertisement that went viral online in New Zealand and Australia[6]. Waititi afterward requested Dennison to appear in his film Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) without requiring her to first go through the audition process. In addition to receiving positive reviews from film critics, the movie ended up being the most financially successful picture ever produced in New Zealand.

In the movie “Deadpool 2” from 2018, Dennison has the role of Russell Collins / Firefist. His performance in Wilderpeople and Waititi’s relationship with the directors of Deadpool were also factors in the casting decision. In the sequel to The Christmas Chronicles, released in 2020, Dennison played the part of Belsnickel and provided the voice for his elf form. The following year, in 2021, he had a significant supporting role in the monster movie sequel Godzilla vs. Kong. In 2023, he was given a role in the film Y2K, which A24 produced.

After directing the religious comedy Rapture-Palooza in 2013, filmmaker Paul Middleditch is taking a more reflective approach with his next project. Uproar’s most recent picture will have its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Picture Festival. Inspired by the director’s adolescence in New South Wales, Australia, the plot stars Deadpool 2 and Hunt for the Wilder people’s fave, Julian Dennison.

Josh Waaka is a 17-year-old outcast living in 1981 New Zealand, and Dennison plays the role of Josh Waaka. The Springboks rugby team, representing South Africa during the apartheid period, is touring New Zealand while Josh tries to figure out who he is. As a result of the demonstrations, Josh is forced to examine his family tree and make a decision with significant repercussions. Hamish Bennett, a Maori filmmaker, and Middleditch collaborated on the script while Middleditch directed the project.

In addition to Dennison, the cast includes Rhys Darby, Minnie Driver, and Mark Mitchinson. They make for an excellent ensemble. The plot is summarized as follows: In 1981 in New Zealand, Josh Waaka is a square peg in the round hole of St. Gilbert’s College, which is fascinated with rugby. He is 17 years old. During this time, the Springboks rugby team, representing South Africa during the apartheid period, is visiting New Zealand, which has resulted in widespread protests and caused division in the country.

Josh’s newly discovered interest in acting and a heightened understanding of his Maori lineage throw him headfirst into a struggle in which he is compelled to either comply or stand up for himself, his family, and his future—Josh’s newfound enthusiasm for acting and his increased awareness of his Maori heritage. Set against the turbulent background of New Zealand’s fight for its national identity, Uproar is the hilarious and touching tale of a young man’s struggle to discover his genuine voice. The narrative takes place in the country of New Zealand.

In addition to Julian Dennison and James Rolleston, Rhys Darby, Erana James, Minnie Driver, nominated for an Academy Award, and Jada Fa’atui, making her feature film debut, are appearing in this movie. The play “Uproar” events occur in 1981 when the South African rugby tour emotionally tore the United States apart. The main character, Josh Waaka, is a seventeen-year-old boy who Dennison portrays. The plot follows Josh as he embarks on a quest to connect to his whakapapa and accept his Mori ancestry.

In 2019, the Merc with a Mouth will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), where many recurring characters from the series will accompany him. Ryan Reynolds is scheduled to return to the nature of Wade Wilson in Deadpool 3, which will be released in 2018. This is the third chapter in the saga of the mutants and the first one to be set inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be making an appearance in this film. However, Logan is one of many characters from the X-Men world created by 20th Century Studios who will join Reynolds on this new journey. The roles of Vanessa, Colossus, Dopinder, and Blind Al will be reprised by Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapidic, Karan Soni, and Leslie Uggams, respectively, as they were in the first and second movies.

Deadpool 2 will also be coming back. Peter, who is portrayed in the film by comedian Rob Delaney, will also appear in the third installment. According to Deadline, Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will also return to portray their previous roles as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio, respectively. Although Hildebrand’s character was shown in the first film, her girlfriend was seen in the second chapter, along with Josh Brolin’s Cable and Julian Dennison’s Rusty Collins. Hildebrand’s character was presented in the first film.

In addition to the actors reprising their roles, the film also features several intriguing newcomers. Emma Corrin, who now stars in The Crown, and Matthew Macfadyen, who currently stars in Succession, are scheduled to appear in the franchise in unspecified roles. However, it is speculated that Corrin would play the antagonist. There have been rumblings that several other major Marvel Cinematic Universe players, such as Owen Wilson and perhaps Tom Hiddleston, will be involved in the next production. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have both hinted at the possibility that they would appear in the film. Their involvement in the movie would make perfect sense now that the multiverse has been created and the X-Men world is heading to Marvel Studios.

Deadpool 3 will be the first R-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe film, and it will undoubtedly herald a new beginning for Marvel Studios and Disney in terms of targeting new audiences and delivering different tales with more violence, sexuality, and adult characters. Deadpool 3 will also be the first movie in the MCU to be rated R.Shawn Levy, director of Free Guy and The Adam Project, is in charge of the film, while Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, writers of the previous two parts of the series, are responsible for the screenplay. In September 2024, audiences can see Deadpool 3 in cinemas.
