Norval Turner, born on May 17, 1952, is now employed as a coach in the National Football League (NFL) of American football. He spent most of his coaching career as an offensive assistant. Still, he rose to fame when he was the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys during their two consecutive championships in the Super Bowl (Super Bowl XXVII and Super Bowl XXIII).
In addition to his work as an assistant coach, Turner was the head coach of the San Diego Chargers from 2007 to 2012, the Oakland Raiders from 2004 to 2005, and the Washington Redskins from 1994 to 2000. During his time as head coach, Turner amassed 118 victories, the most ever accumulated by an NFL head coach who finished with a losing record. Additionally, he is the first head coach in NFL history to have won 100 games while having a losing record.
Turner was born at Camp Lejeune, which is located in North Carolina. During his high school football career, he attended Alhambra High School, which is located in Martinez, California.
