Yacine has been attending school in Paris to get a head start on a medical career, much like his mother did. Both of these achievements come as no surprise. Some too-dramatic exchanges of language and other elements of the story are heavy-handed. The young guys make a compelling argument that their characters, who might easily have given up in the face of the disheartening news, are well on their way to discovering a future that transcends division and sorrow.
The film Priscilla Bertin and Judith Nora are producing Rose on behalf of Silex Films and Elsa Rodde on behalf of Germaine Films. The film is being created in co-production with France 3 Cinéma and Apollo, who have also secured the rights to distribute the film in France and sell it internationally.
