Tej Pratap Yadav is a politician from India. He served as a cabinet minister for health in the Bihar government. In 2015, he was appointed to the Bihar Legislative Assembly as a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal from the Mahua constituency. He is the eldest son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, both former chief ministers of Bihar.

Tej Pratap Yadav was born in Patna on April 16, 1988. His father’s name is Lalu Prasad Yadav and his mother’s name is Rabri Devi. They have seven daughters and two sons. Tej completed his education up to the 12th grade. He was described as “Behrupiya (a man of many disguises),” who was “turning spiritual and loves to wander around aimlessly.” He was spotted in 2018 “overlooking a large herd of cattle in Barsana at the Mataji Goshala, said to be one of the world’s largest cow shelters with over 25,000 cows.”
He married Aishwarya Rai. She is the granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai. His wife has accused him of beating her, using drugs, and cross-dressing. According to a report in the Times of India, one of his complaints about his wife is that “she has not been able to adjust to his way of life.”

From November 2015 to July 2017, he served as Cabinet Minister of Health in Nitish Kumar’s government. In December 2015, Bihar’s Environment Minister promoted horseback riding as a way to reduce pollution in the state.
The marital disunity between Yadav and Aishwarya Rai, Chandrika Roy’s daughter, resulted in a political “subplot in the fight for Parsa seat” in the Bihar Assembly in 2020. Aishwarya also urged voters to support CM Nitish Kumar, a key political rival of her husband’s family.
