Vijay Deverakonda is an Indian actor and producer who is most known for his work in Telugu cinema. Deverakonda made his acting debut in the romantic comedy Nuvvila, directed by Ravi Babu (2011). Later, he played a tiny role in Sekhar Kammula’s Life is Beautiful. He was introduced to Nag Ashwin, who placed him in a supporting role with Nani in the 2015 film Yevade Subramanyam.
The film was produced by the daughters of Ashwini Dutt, a Telugu cinema producer; Priyanka Dutt backed him and signed him into her business once shooting began, and Swapna Dutt signed him onto her company after the shooting began.
After Arjun Reddy, there was Ye Mantram Vesave, which was intended to be out in 2013, but instead came out in 2018. Following that, he featured in Mahanati, a biographical film about actress Savitri. Geetha Arts’ romantic comedy Geetha Govindam, in which Deverakonda featured as an innocent and anxious college lecturer, was Deverakonda’s next release in 2018.
His next picture, directed by Anand Shankar and released on October 5, was the Tamil political thriller NOTA, which did poorly at the box office. Taxiwala, a spooky comedic thriller from UV Creations, was his next movie.
In 2019, Deverakonda starred with Rashmika Mandanna in Bharat Kamma’s Dear Comrade, a romantic action drama. Hero, directed by Anand Annamalai and starring Malavika Mohanan, was his next signing. The project, however, was apparently shelved after it began filming. In 2020, he starred with Rashi Khanna, Catherine Tresa, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Izabelle Leite in Kranthi Madhav’s romance drama World Famous Lover.
His Hindi–Telugu multilingual film Liger is currently under development as of April 2021. Puri Jagannadh is directing the film, which Karan Johar is producing.
