Paul Michael Gross OC is a Canadian musician, actor, director, writer, producer, and producer born in Calgary, Alberta, on April 30, 1959. His full name is Paul Michael Gross.Gross is well-known for his significant part as Constable Benton Fraser in the renowned Canadian television series Due South. He is also famous for his work as a writer, producer, director, and actor in the war film Passchendaele (2008), which he authored and directed.

In addition to appearing in Due South, Gross served as an executive producer for the show. He also created seven series episodes, including the series finale, split into two parts, and composed and performed songs for the show’s soundtrack. Later in his career, he was successful with the Canadian television shows Slings & Arrows and Republic of Doyle. Gross attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton for two years to study acting, but he quit the program in the middle of his third year.

After some time, he revisited the establishment to finish the required half credit to get his fine arts degree. He had roles in several theatre performances, including Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet, among others. Other plays, such as Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme and As You Like It, had him in a starring role at some point—his student work.

The Clifford E. Lee National Playwriting Award and the Alberta Culture Playwriting Award were bestowed to The Deer and the Antelope Play after being staged in a production collaboration between the university’s School of Theater and Theatre Network. Following his performance in the play Successful Strangers, Gross made his film debut in the film Turning to Stone.

The curling movie “Men with Brooms” was written and directed by him. Gross and his wife Martha Burns both had starring roles in the television series Slings & Arrows, which ran from 2003 to 2006 and was hailed by The A.V. Club as “one of television’s greatest shows.”The 2008 film Passchendaele, which he wrote, co-produced, directed, and performed in, brought him significant notoriety in Canada. He was inspired to write the screenplay for the film by the memories that his grandpa, who served in the First World War, told him.

On September 4, 2008, the picture made its world debut at the Toronto International Picture Festival, the day it was honored to kick off the festival. Upon its first release, the movie was met with various reactions. Despite this, it was awarded several ladies, including five Genie Awards, one for Best Picture, and the Golden Reel Award for the highest-grossing Canadian film in 2008.

On March 2, 2009, Paul Gross was presented with an award in recognition of his film Passchendaele, which had previously been nominated for the National Arts Centre Award for Achievement during the Previous Performance Year. Beginning on September 16, 2011, he starred with Kim Cattrall in a production of Noel Coward’s Private Lives in Toronto. The show ran until October 30, 2011, then transferred to Broadway, where it premiered on November 6 and ran through December 31, 2011.

During the same year, he also produced the feature film Breakaway, directed by Akshay Kumar and starring Camilla Belle and Vinay Virmani. On the show Republic of Doyle, he played the role of Kevin Crocker for nine episodes between 2011 and 2014.
More recently, Gross finished his work on the modern war drama Hyena Road, published on October 9 (2015). Increased notoriety came his way due to his performance in the television series Due South (1994–1999), in which he portrayed the honorable Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer Benton Fraser.

Following a discussion, the creator Paul Haggis decided that he wanted Gross to play the character of Constable Benton Fraser. Gross, like his colleague actor David Marciano, initially didn’t want to be a part of the program, and Haggis was still determining whether he wished to Gross for the role. Gross reprised his role as Benton Fraser in the third season of Due South when the show was brought back from the dead. In addition to that, he took on the role of executive producer and writer.

At the time, he held the record for being the highest-paid performer in the annals of Canadian television history, with an estimated pay of between $2 and $3 million each season. He was responsible for writing a few episodes of the show’s most recent season. The attacks “Gift of the Wheelman” and “All the Queen’s Horses” are among his favorites, while the episodes “Mountie on the Bounty” and “Call of the Wild” have a similar tone.

In January, we shared the trailer for the satirical western film Gunless, produced in Canada and starred Paul Gross, Sienna Guillory, Dustin Milligan, and Callum Keith Rennie. Eastwick actor Paul Gross also appears in the film. An FS.net reader named Randol sent us an email late last evening that included a link to a brand new extended theatrical trailer for Gunless hosted on YouTube. It seems to be precisely like I imagined it would, but holy cow, does it look like fun! These Canadians could pull off a fantastic little independent Western comedy, and I can’t wait to check this out.

A hardened American gunslinger is unsuccessful in creating a showdown in a lovely town in Canada where no one seems to comprehend or respect the short code of the American Wild West. William Phillips, a Canadian director who has previously helmed the feature films Treed Murray and Foolproof, is the mind behind the script and the camera for Gunless. This was filmed in British Columbia and the surrounding area a year ago.

Since it has yet to have a distributor in the United States, we have yet to determine when it will be released in theaters there. However, Alliance Films will be releasing it in Canadian theaters in March. The movie was only available in Canada on April 30, as stated in the promo you saw. Thirteen older Canadian programs, including the television series that made Paul Gross a household name and Kim Cattrall’s self-described “passion project,” will begin streaming on Netflix starting this month and continuing until January 2023.

Other titles include the 1990 Quebec period romance “Les filles de Caleb,” starring Marina Orsini and Roy Dupuis, and the 2010 crime drama “Rookie Blue,” starring Missy Peregrym as a rookie cop. Gross played a Mountie who winds up in Chicago in the comedy “Due South,” released in 1994. “Sensitive Skin,” released in 2014, showcased Cattrall as a woman coming to terms with aging.
