Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan, widely known as Salman Khan, is one of the leading players in the film industry. Famous among his fans as Sallu and Bhaijan, he’s not only an actor but also a producer, a TV presenter, and a philanthropist.

Salman Khan Biography:

Salman Khan was born in a famous and successful Bollywood family on December 27, 1965, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. He did his primary schooling at Scindia School, Gwalior. Then went to St. Stanislaus High School, Bandra, Mumbai to complete his secondary school. Khan attended St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, to complete his graduation, but withdrew his studies as he wanted to pursue his acting skills.

He and his friends, Sajid Khan and Chunky Pandey, had learned to act from Daisy Iran’s acting institute. Salman also worked as a role model before becoming a successful actor.

His dad, Salim Khan, wanted him to be a cricketer, but he wanted to be a writer, just like his dad. He even wrote scripts for movies such as Veer and Chandramukhi. In fact, the storyline of the film Baaghi: A Rebel for Love was Salman’s idea, and he was also admired in the film.

In addition to his achievements in the film industry, he also owns a charity group called the Being Human Foundation, which focuses on human health, care, and education. All the money that comes from selling the watches that he designs, human t-shirts, and his paintings, goes to the foundation.

Physical Appearance:

Salman Khan is a well-built man with a 45-inch chest and a 35-inch waist and a 17-inch biceps. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Family, Girlfriends & Wife:

Salman Khan is from the Sunni sect. He recognizes himself as Hindu and Muslim, because his father is a Muslim, and his mother is a Hindu. He is the son of the screenwriter Salim Khan, who wrote super-hit scripts from the past, such as Deewar (1975), Sholay (1975), and Don (1978). His mother was Sushila Charak, who later changed his name to Salma Khan.

Helen, a veteran actress, is the Stepmother of Salman. Salman is the brother of Arbaaz Khan and of Sohail Khan. Alvira and Arpita are sisters of Salman Khan.

Even though Bhaijaan is not yet married, his love life has always been the city’s talk. Sangeeta Bijlani was the first lady Salman ever to settle with. They even planned to tie a knot in 1994, but things didn’t go as planned, and they were both drifting apart.

After having had a party with Sangeeta, Salman went on to date actress Somy Ali. Salman’s relationship with the actress was very intense until he met Aishwarya Rai on the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

It is suspected that Aish and Salman had come closer to the film sets, and the love blossomed between the two by the end of the shooting. The duo was back in 1999-2002 and finally parted with Salman’s endless tantrums.

After he finished his relationship with Aishwarya Rai, Salman lost his heart again to Katrina Kaif. They are reported to have been dating for four long years before their departure in 2009.

The actor was also rumored to be dating Faria Alam, former Secretary of the Model & Football Association (1996), and the Romanian model and television presenter Iulia Vantur in 2016.

Career:

After taking his training from Daisy Iran’s acting school, Khan went on to continue pursuing his acting career. He worked as a model in his early days in the company. Then, in 1988, Salman started his career as a leading actor in the film Biwi Ho To Aisi, where his voice was dubbed.

Salman worked very hard during his depressed days. He never used the name of his father to manipulate the producers, but rather gave auditions to get the roles. After a lot of efforts, Khan played his first significant role in the Bollywood Romantic Family Drama Maine Pyaar Kiya, one of India’s best-growing movies of the time. He also won his first award for Best Actor at Filmfare, but unfortunately, he was unable to receive the award. The actor then appeared in Baaghi: A Rebel for Love that was a financial success, followed by some average movies such as Patthar Ke Phool, Sanam Bewfa, and Kurbaan.

Khan was the first Bollywood actor to star in a Hollywood film and started his career with Marigold: Adventure in India. He also launched his production companies Salman Khan Being Human Productions and Salman Khan Film (SKF). His first movie directed by Dr. Cabbie (under the SKF banner) was a Canadian film that became Canada’s second-largest grossing film.

The actor has also organized a variety of TV reality shows, such as 10 Ka Dum and Big Boss.

Salman is one of the most famous actors in Bollywood and the only actor to have had 12 back to 100 Crore plus movies. His 100 films include Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Ready (2011), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Dabangg 2 (2012), Jai Ho (2014), Kick (2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Sultan (2016), Tubelight (2017), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Race 3 respectively (2018).

Controversies:

1. In 1999, the actor was prosecuted for poaching endangered wild animals, allegedly shooting a rare black antelope near Jodhpur, while filming a movie called “Hum Saath Saath Hai” Later, in April 2018, Salman was prosecuted in the case and sentenced to five years in prison by the Court of Jodhpur.

2. On the night of September 28, 2002, Salman parked his car over the people who were sleeping on the sidewalk in the north of Bombay. One man died in the incident, and three of them were badly wounded.

3. His relationship with Aishwarya Rai has brought a lot of negative publicity to the actor accused by Aishwarya’s parents of having abused their daughter. There was a police complaint against him, but he refused all charges against him.

4. In 2003, Khan was criticized for calling Vivek Oberoi 41 times in one night and endangering him to die. Vivek was observed to have seen Aishwarya Rai at the time.

5. Again in 2008, Salman Khan became a controversial figure when he had a reasonable argument and a fight with Shah Rukh Khan at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party.

6. In December 2017, Navin Ramchandra Lade, Secretary-General of the Rojgar Aghari Republican Party of India, registered an FIR against him and Shilpa Shetty in Mumbai for allegedly using the word “bhangi” in a public place that hurt the emotions of the Scheduled Caste society.

7. After Sushant Singh Rajput contemplated suicide on 14 June 2020, a debate on nepotism in the film industry was launched on social media, with many claiming that outsiders were treated as outcasts by the Bollywood Privilege Club. Salman was one of those accused of industrial nepotism. Abhinav Kashyap, Sona Mohapatra, and Sonu Nigam were among the few to take over the actor.

Filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap took initiative and called Salman Khan’s charitable initiative “Being Human” a “show off” and claimed that they were doing money laundering in the name of the charitable organization.
